SAN MARCOS — The Hays County Health Department hosted the Centers for Disease Control and the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) for a presentation of its services and work on Wednesday, Aug. 21.
The visit included the HCHD showcasing what the team has been doing through a Health Equity & Community Engagement grant received from DSHS, as well as highlighting the new mobile vaccination unit, which has been in the works for some time.
“Here at the HCHD, we strive every day to make healthcare access more equitable in Hays County. It is a privilege to be able to showcase our hard work and be recognized for it,” said the health department. “We couldn’t do any of this without our dedicated partners. Special thank you to Dr. Michelle Cohen, Hays County Commissioner Pct 2, Debbie Gonzales Ingalsbe, Hays County Commissioner Pct 1, St. David’s Foundation, CommuniCare and Barnabas Connection for the endless support you have shown this department.”
