SAN MARCOS — Each October, communities around the United States gather to support the victims and survivors of domestic violence. This year, Hays County Crime Stoppers (HCCS) is joining forces with local law enforcement agencies and the Hays-Caldwell Women’s Center to take a stand against and raise awareness of domestic violence.
Throughout the month of October, HCCS will publish posters of individuals currently wanted for felony domestic violence and stalking charges. Partnering agencies include the Hays County Sheriff’s Office, San Marcos Police Department, Kyle Police Department, Buda Police Department, Texas State University-San Marcos Police Department and the Hays County District Attorney’s Office.
HCCS will publish a portion of the Wanted List via social media and its website every few days, according to a press release. This is a community call to action to locate and arrest wanted felons in an effort to close open cases.
The organization encourages the community to help partner agencies by anonymously reporting tips and information regarding these suspects through the HCCS program.
HCCS and its partners will collaborate to bring compassion, understanding and resolution to these crimes. Those who have any information regarding these incidents, the suspects or their whereabouts are asked to contact HCCS anonymously at 1-800-324-TIPS (8477), online at www.callcrimestoppers.com, or by using the P3 Tips app on your smartphone. All tipsters remain anonymous and their anonymity is protected by law. Information provided to Crime Stoppers that leads to an arrest may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
