Born in Odessa, Texas on the 16th of October 1954, Tony peacefully passed away on the 23rd of December 2024 at his home in Uhland TX surrounded by his loving family. He was 70 years old.
He is survived by Sue King his wife of 30 years, daughter Jessie Chrudimsky (husband Mark), children Shelby, Maggie, Ella and Kate; son Amos Baker (wife Kristen), children Landry and Layton; brothers Michael, Robert (wife Lisa), Mark (wife Laura) and Danny King. He was predeceased by his parents Robert Joseph and Doris Faye King.
Tony grew up in Odessa as the middle child of five brothers. He graduated from Permian High School and was a walk-on starter for their varsity swim team in 50- and 100-meter freestyle. He attended the vocational classes where he learned the skills he turned into his career. Soon after graduation he moved to central Texas for the plentiful construction opportunities. He quickly began with constructing a commercial Dairy Queen in Luling. He landed in Austin and was joined by his brother Mark. They formed Koenig Brothers Construction and built many homes from Kyle to Pflugerville for many years. He semi-retired with remodeling work in Travis and Hays Counties. Tony ultimately settled in Uhland with his love Sue to raise their family, and build the house of their dreams, not surprisingly in the formerly abandoned granary and feed mill he restored and remodeled.
He lived and shared his life with all persons honestly, positively, modestly and unapologetically. A memorial service to celebrate Tony’s life will be held at All Generations Church 2515 N. Colorado St., Lockhart TX. The service will commence at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 15th, 2025
