KYLE, TX – On behalf of the Kyle Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, the executive committee announced Becca Hancock’s appointment as the next chamber president and chief executive officer. She will officially assume the role July 28.

Hancock has experience in chamber leadership and community development. She most recently served nearly three years as executive director of the Wimberley Valley Chamber of Commerce. In this position, she led initiatives that strengthened business partnerships, expanded community outreach, launched successful programs and laid the groundwork for long-term organizational growth, a Kyle Area Chamber of Commerce news release stated.

“The chamber, much like the Kyle business community, has undergone significant changes and evolutions in the past several years, and Becca has the background and skills to build upon those,” said Dee Crisp, chairman of the board. “We are excited to see how the future unfolds under her direction.”

During her tenure in Wimberley, Hancock graduated from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute of Organizational Management Program.

Prior to moving to Wimberley in 2017, Hancock served as president of the Mansfield Area Chamber of Commerce, where she led a 700-member organization. Under her leadership, the chamber doubled its membership, purchased and renovated a new building, increased non-dues revenue, enhanced member benefits and implemented new government and legislative programs.

Earlier in her career, she also served as vice president of the Grand Prairie Chamber of Commerce, overseeing special events, public relations and communications. She managed the chamber’s newsletter and website, led its Leadership and Leadership Alumni programs and served as liaison to several city and chamber committees.

In addition to her professional work, Hancock is an active community volunteer. Her service includes leadership roles with the United Way of Hays and Caldwell Counties, Lions Club of Wimberley, Mansfield Rotary Club, Methodist Mansfield Medical Center Steering Committee, Arlington YMCA Board of Directors, YMCA Taste of Arlington and the Grand Prairie Rotary Club.

She and her husband, Lance Winter, vice president of communications at the Hays Caldwell Economic Development Partnership, reside in Hays County.

“I’m honored and thrilled to step into this role,” Hancock said. “It’s an exciting opportunity to bring my experience and passion for community development to a growing, dynamic region. I look forward to working with Kyle’s business leaders and stakeholders to build on the momentum already underway. I can’t wait to begin.”
